Ahh, but last time I checked, playing "chicken" required two drivers. If Congress wanted to demonstrate they were "responsible" adults, they would have sent Bush two bills. One bill would provide the funding the troops need (they say they support the troops, right?) and the other bill would put an exit date for leaving Iraq.

Of course, if we leave the job "undone" the Dems could claim forever that Bush lost the war. If, on the other hand, we actually stay long enough to succeed, they will be shown to have been wrong. Can't have THAT now can we?

You really should try to see past your hatred. It's not very becoming.

Ah, I almost miss the rhetoric.

He had a bill he could sign. He not only got the money he needed, he got MORE money than he asked for. Instead, he chose to play chicken on a road with the lives of other people's children and he's about to get squashed with them. I bet you he'd sign that bill right quick if his drunk offspring were in uniform, forget all about the pissing contest he's started and is losing. But you can only expect that from a responsible adult. Not the temper tantrum stricken 7 year old we have as President.

Luckily, we are all counting the months til we're rid of "it".
